What is a Door frame repair kit?
*****A door frame repair kit is a metal sleeve that is screwed into a destroyed wood frame to fix and reinforce the door jam. The most common use for this device is to repair a door frame that has been kicked in by an intruder. By this time you have already been broken into, and it is to late. The reason the ( metal ) door frame repair kit is most popular is because people do not usually think about door security until they have had a door kicked in. To help prevent break-ins & home invasions, a great security product to install on your door frames would be the door frame reinforcement kit. This kit is in most cases very easy to install by a home owner. In many cases the installation of the door frame reinforcement kit can take someone less than 10 minutes to install. This invasion protection device slaps right on top of the existing frame. The device is screwed to the frame with long screws that should reach the studs behind the existing frame. Its installation adds nearly 5 feet of customized steel strength to your existing door frame. It is powder coated white to match most homeowner's trim colors or you can paint it to match your décor design.
FBI statistics show 70% of all break-ins are from door-frame failure. 2:00 in the afternoon is the biggest break-in time. Because of these construction flaws, it makes sense to upgrade to a heavy-duty, high security strike plate. Door jamb repair or replacement will not hold unless you strengthen the door casings with our door frame reinforcement kit. A Door jamb reinforcement is the key to keeping criminals out of your home.

What is a strike plate? *****
Did you know #1
Most new houses and almost all old houses come standard with locks that have a strike plate on the frame that does not give you much security protection. The result of this can be devastating to home owners. Over the years of being a locksmith I have seen about 80% of the houses in my area have these strike plates. They give home owners a false sense of security. In fact I am willing to challenge you to a test that I know the answers to already.
1. Get a Phillips screw driver and remove the strike plate on the frame, the one that the deadbolts bolt slides into. ( see below)
2. Look at the screws, (I bet they are under a inch long)
3. Try to bend the strike plate ( I bet you can bend it easily)
The problem with this strike plate is that screws are to small and when you screw the strike plate to the frame it will only screw into the light weight decorative wood. This is a problem because when someone kicks or pries at your door it will just break the decorative wood and allow entry. Well I know what you are thinking, your thinking thanks Locksmith Expert I’ll just put long screws into the strike plate and I will be safe. With out knowing about the inferior light gauge metal strike plate you have on your house that might seem like a great idea. If you try to utilize the existing strike plate and anchor it correctly it will still not be secure. when it is kicked or pried open it will just bend and break just as easy as with short screws.
Install a heavy duty strike plate with long screws and a thick gauge metal construction. ( The screws will be very long and screw into the stud behind the decorative wood and the strike plate will be equally strong to help against kicks and pries.)
You can install a heavy duty metal sleeve to cover your door frame. ( This Product will be anchored with many long screws that anchor to the studs behind the decorative wood and provide an even more secure solution)
4. What can I do to secure my front door if I have a front door that does not have a deadbolt and I am on a budget?
Answer: A dead bolt with a door reinforcement kit is always the best security. If you want to reinforce you door frame and you are on a budget I recommend a security strike plate for entry locks. The security strike plate will mount with 6 long screws into the frame. This will help in the protection process against intruders. I recommend this application to people who cannot afford to purchase the above recommended methods.
5. Can you make my home theft proof, burglar proof, and
invasion proof by installing a high level of security like …...a door frame reinforcement strike plate?
Answer:You can eliminate a very large percentage of break-ins, home invasions, and thefts by securing your home with a door frame reinforcement strike plate kit. By installing this door frame reinforcement / repair kit you can greatly strengthen your frame to the point that most intruders will not make it into you home.
6. If my door frame needs to be repaired because it was kicked in, what can I do to repair the door frame? What can I do to repair the frame where it cannot be kicked in again?
Answer : you should try this door frame repair kit it is good for destroyed door frame repairs.
